Scholarships

One of the most important functions of our foundation is the selection of scholarship winners. The scholarships awards committee is responsible for choosing the winners and is based on grade point average, community involvement, need and essay evaluation.

We are proud to announce that this year we were able to present 22 scholarships to deserving GHS seniors.

Each year we strive to increase the number of scholarships, through our continuing fund raising events and your generous contributions.

Activities

Activities for the benefit of GHS students and the surrounding community are very important to us. Such activities from last year include the Jaime Escalante Fundraiser in various events, passing along generous donations of Christmas Trees raffled off to needy families, teaming up with other community organizations to produce Winter Wonderland to bring in actual snow for children to play in, and Christmas events and toy drives, just to name a few.

Equipment

The Garfield Alumni Foundation has assisted Garfield High School on campus groups with funds to replace or purchase new equipment. We have also contributed funds to help pay for uniforms and transportation for our marching band ROTC cadets and sports teams.

In addition, we have provided assistance at various events for Garfield High School. The Foundation will continue to provide assistance and support events in raising funds for equipment and school functions.
