The Garfield Alumni Foundation will be hosting the 48th Annual 5th Quarter Dance and Fundraiser on
Friday November 5, 2010 at the Quiet Cannon banquet facility, located at 901 Clemente, Montebello
CA.
The gala, which is being held the same night as the East Los Angeles Football Classic game between
Garfield and Roosevelt High Schools, is the largest fundraiser of the year for the foundation.
This year's theme will be a Salute to the Big Band Era and beginning at 7:00 pm the dance floor will be
filled with swing, bi-bop, and jive music from The Chico Big Band Orchestra, featuring Garfield
graduate, Gilbert Moret, on vocals.
Next, long time favorite Chico takes the stage with the spicy and caliente sounds of Latin, R&B,
contemporary, and of course your favorite oldies.
Closing this year's big bash will be DJ Phil's Souvenir Entertainment, spinning the hottest and most
popular hits for you to dance or groove to.
There will be something for everyone, appetizers, raffles, silent auctions, vendor booths, old friends,
new friends and classmates.
A special gift bag will be presented to the first 100 paid early birds, networking and cocktails begin at
6:00 pm...
This event is not only open to Garfield grads, anyone over 21 years can attend. You are encouraged to
bring your friends and family and have your own mini reunion.
Dress up or come as you are, before the game, during the game or after the game, you'll have the
best and most memorable time celebrating with your friends and classmates.

The money raised from this event is used by the Garfield Alumni Foundation to fund scholarships for
Garfield High School seniors.
This year 20 scholarships were awarded to deserving students by the foundation and Dollars for
Scholars.
